Madeira Honey Bread
Madeira honey breads are mainly consumed during Christmas, but the truth is that they are delicious throughout the year.
Ingredients
-
1 kg of flour
-
5 whole eggs
-
2 dl of cane honey
-
250 g of butter
-
2 tablespoons of lard
-
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg powder
-
1 teaspoon (very full) cinnamon powder
-
1 teaspoon of baking powder
Preparation Method
- Mix everything and knead until you get a homogeneous mass. The mixture will be a little softer than the cookie dough.
- With lightly floured hands, make small balls. Arrange them separately on a tray lined with parchment paper.
- The balls must be well spaced because they will expand a lot with the heat and will be almost like cookies, that’s right.
- Place in a preheated oven at 200ºC. Bake each batch for 10 to 12 minutes. If you bake for 10 minutes, the breads will be softer inside, they will be sticky, and delicious!
- If you cook them for another minute or two, they will be less sticky, but just as delicious. In either case, they are crispy on the outside. They are absolutely delicious and hard to stop eating!!
