Chocolate Cake with Red Wine

This recipe could be just another ordinary chocolate cake, but the red wine gives it an extra flavor that will whet your taste buds!

Preparation Method

  1. Bring 200ml of red wine, the peel of ½ orange, a cinnamon stick, and four cloves to a boil. Let it boil for a while, then strain and set aside.
  2. Beat 4 egg yolks with 250g brown sugar, add 200g butter, and beat again until smooth.
  3. Add 200g melted chocolate and mix again. Add 20g cocoa and the flavored wine; 250g flour and a teaspoon of baking powder. Beat again.
  4. Fold in the egg whites with a wand and pour into a greased and floured baking tin. Bake in the oven at 160 degrees for 40 minutes.
  5. Whip 200ml cream with 2 tablespoons sugar. Add 400g of cream cheese and beat again.
  6. Pour in the equivalent of two tablespoons of port, whip again and place in a piping bag.
  7. Cut the cake in half, and fill it with the cream, the same that you will use for the topping.
  8. Finish with chocolate shavings.
