The brown sugar in this mixture comes from the partial refining of the sugarcane syrup. It contains 5% molasses, which gives it a slightly brown color and a subtle vanilla aroma. After harvesting, the cane is pressed to extract the syrup. This last process is then heated to evaporate the water and to concentrate the sugar that will agglomerate and crystallize.
