Product Description
Pepper is used in the most varied Azorean dishes, it is part of the Azorean culture and is present in every house. Typical Azorean seasoning.
The pepper paste is obtained according to an artisanal method, where after cutting and removing the seeds, the chilli peppers are ground in a mill specifically for this purpose. Among other cooking secrets, this dough is then placed in clay salt pans for some time.
Its flavor marked slightly sweet. Produced in Candelária, on the island of São Miguel, and prepared in an artisanal way.
There are several varieties of pepper or chilli grown in the Azores, some spicier than others.
The consumption of all types of chilli peppers has grown worldwide in recent years. Chili peppers contain vitamin C and A and are a good source of fiber.
