Product Description
Persian blue salt is a fossil salt, or rock salt, whose crystals formed 100 million years ago in the Precambrian seas. The extreme pressure exerted by the tectonic movements of the plates caused the formation of crystals of a very special structure. The blue color of this Iranian salt comes from potassium ore called silvinite, which is present exclusively in halite salts, usually pink, with blue being extremely rare. The Semnan mine is located in northern Iran, in the Ergourz mountain range.
Rich in calcium, iron and potassium, the Persian blue salt has many nutritional qualities. Its consumption helps to improve the circulation of oxygen in the blood, strengthens the heart and facilitates digestion.
History of Persian blue salt: 100 million years ago, Persian blue salt was found alongside species that disappeared during the mass extinction of the Cretaceous due to an asteroid, volcanic eruption or withdrawal from the oceans: the great flying and marine reptiles, ammonites (ancestors of nautilus) and dinosaurs.
