It has a very rich smoky flavor, followed by a slightly spicy aftertaste.
Initially cultivated in Central America, it was exported to Europe by Christopher Columbus. Currently, smoked paprika is widely used in Spanish cuisine.
It is made from the dried and roasted pods of the red chilli pepper and then smoked in oak wood, in order to obtain a unique flavor.
