Product certified by the Protected Designation of Origin “Pimentón de La Vera”. The production process of La Chinata’s premium range is distinguished mainly by the selection of the raw material. Each de la vera pepper is selected by hand, choosing only the noblest part of the pepper.
For the production of La Vera Sweet Smoked Peppers PDO from La Chinata, it chooses the best peppers from the La Vera region, with a careful selection of farmers. Cultivation begins with the planting of the vegetable in beds. At the end of May, the plant, already cultivated, is transplanted to the ground to complete its growth. The varieties of chilli used are mainly Jaranda, Jariza and Bola.
Drying follows the centuries-old method from the Extremadura region of La Vera, using oak wood for more than 10 days. This drying gives the product a unique aroma and flavour which distinguishes it from any other sweet smoked paprika in the world.
