Product Description
The Cuevas Group was founded in 1867 with the challenge of opening Spain’s first Marron Glace plant. Only 15% of the chestnuts found in Galician forests are needed to make Marron Glacé. The chestnuts are subjected to a rigorous selection of ideal size and perfect shape of the fruits. Once selected, the chestnuts undergo a technological process using water vapor, to remove the thin inner skin without damaging the fruit surface. Subsequently, they are submitted to a slow process of immersion in sugar syrup, to finish embellishing them with a thin and crunchy layer of “glass” perfumed with vanilla. A delicate treatment that extends for 240 hours of patience, dedication and perseverance and which justifies the authentic character of this fine and elegant product.
