With more than 92 years of history, Schweizer Naturkost is a family company that produces cabbage, cucumbers, vegetables and fruits. Founded in 1927 by Karl and Friedrich Schweizer in the Swabian village of Sielmingen at that time, the main focus was to process the cabbage to produce sauerkraut and deliver it to customers as fresh vegetables.

A little later the company started working on ways to preserve the cabbage and sell it. In 1973, the production of biological products began, at a time when bio was still ecologically correct and long before the existence of the first biological regulation. Since then, Schweizer Naturkost has always followed Demeter’s guidelines.

Demeter is the only ecological association that operates worldwide promoting, with its high standards, sustainable agriculture with concerns about food quality, soil fertility and the health of plants and animals.

Working for more than 40 years according to natural and biological guidelines, Schweizer Naturkost is today considered one of the oldest brands in the healthy food sector, producing Swiss, fresh, natural, healthy and honest foods. In 2017 the parent company was transferred from Filderstadt to Thuringia, and is now the brand’s new home.
